Isoimmune thrombocytopenic purpura is an uncommon cause of purpura in the newborn infant, caused by fetal-maternal platelet incompatibility. The maternal isoantibodies against fetal platelet antigens, which are lacked in mother’s platelets, cross placenta and cause destructions of baby’s platelet. The effects of phototherapy used in treatment of neonatal hyperbilirubinemia on peripheral blood findings were studied in full term newborns. There was no significant difference between daily mean hematocrits and WBC counts of phototherapy group and control group. We observed 62 cases of neonatal convulsion who were admitted to the department of Pediatrics, Ewha Womans University Hospital during the 6 1/2 year period from January, 1976 to June, 1982. Congenital supravalvular aortic stenosis is congenital narrowing of the ascending aorta that may be localized or diffuse, originating at superior margin of the sinuses of Valsalva just above the level of the coronary arteries.
